On Tuesday, 24th August, 2010, DIET participated in the EYE DONATION CAMPAIGN at the Narayana Netralaya, Bangalore.

Brother Umar Shariff, the President of DIET, elaborated the importance of working on social welfare programs in the current times; and encouraged people of all faiths to work together on certain humanity relief causes.

The Religious Leaders from various background; such as Balgangadhar Swami, the Bible translator Chelladurai, the Chairman and M.D of Narayana Netralaya Mr. Bhujang Shetty, The Islamic Scholar Shaikh Khaleelur Rahmaan Madani, Mr. Maqbul Siraj, the Executive Editor of Islamic Voice, the Scholar from the Gurudwara, Bangalore, Mr. P.K. Paul from IDL and others shared the moments for this magnanimous cause.

All of them encouraged the audience to pledge to donate their eyes after they take their last breath on earth.

The event was hosted by the Eye care hospital Narayana Netralaya and the NGO IDL along with Dr. Rajkumar Eye Bank.
